What should I do if my son was severely attacked by a dog?

My son was attacked by a dog with excessive force. The dog attacked him in the backyard while surrendering cops were not in vicinity. Witnesses in the home were trying to hit dog off my son and shook my son like a rag doll exposing and cutting through muscle and bone. He got 38 stitches in leg and 20 in buttocks area. I'm really looking for a pro bono attorney or if we have a strong case to get paid if we win.

You definitely have a strong case that a personal injury attorney would take on a contingency. California law makes the owner liable.

Most personal injuries attorney operate on a contingency, which means they get a percentage of what you may recover. You need to contact a personal injury attorney in your area, many offer free consultations. You mention police. If this was a police dog be aware that the statute for filing a government claim is 6 months from the date of the incident. I would suggest you contact an attorney now.

First, get son good medical assistance. Next, you need to find out who you are suing because this post is very unclear. All I can tell is that there was a dog the attacke, apparently, your son. You tell us nothing about who owneed the dog. A disturbing note is the reference to cops and surrendering. If the cops own the dog and your son was the reason the dog was out, you could have a problem, he could. Your post does not tell me anything that would make you a plaintiff. See a personal injury attorney. If cops, see a civil rights type attorney known for suing cops.
