What can I do if my attorney won't help me get my settlement?

I have asked my lawyer to settle my case 6 months ago. I called my lawyer and all he says is he's going to get me more money. I don't want more money. I want my settlement. Now, yesterday I had another heart attack. I called him and he won't call me. Please what can I do? I am going to die and all this so he can get more money. He doesn't care at all what happens to me.

You have the right to change attorneys at any time. Get a new attorney and he or she will get the file from your current attorney.

Part of the problem here is that you do not say an offer to settle has in fact been made. It may be that your attorney and the defense are talking about a settlement and there are issues that have not been fully addressed by the defendant. If a specific settlement has been made, WRITE a letter to your attorney that says you want to accept the offer. He has XYZ time to bring you the documents or he is fired. [that does not n=mean he gets nothing, he is entitled to fair compensation for the time and effort spent.]
